FactSet Competitors: 9 Alternatives Compared

Compare FactSet with eight alternatives across market data, company financials, research workflows, pricing, APIs and enterprise buying fit.

FactSet competitors: nine providers compared in a clean Veripoint navy and blue financial-data interface with the official logo and no background image.

FactSet competitors range from real-time market terminals to focused private-company data services. They are not interchangeable. The right shortlist depends on whether the buyer needs prices and news, estimates and modelling, portfolio analytics, private-company financials, registry evidence or an enterprise data feed—and which of those jobs must work together.

DECISION SUMMARY

Choose by the primary research workflow

Keep FactSet on the shortlist when connected market data, company research, portfolio analytics, models and enterprise delivery matter across institutional teams.

Choose Veripoint for focused investigation when the core job is evidence-aware company-financial analysis with published entry pricing.

Choose Global Database for identity and filings when registry provenance, ownership, filed accounts and licensed data delivery drive the project.

Choose Monetaiq for normalized statements when an internal model needs repeatable financial inputs and visible report allowances.

Shortlist Bloomberg, LSEG or Capital IQ Pro for broad institutional market and research workflows.

Consider Yahoo Finance or EMIS when accessible public-market research or emerging-market context is the narrower requirement.

Commercial disclosure: Veripoint is by Global Database. Monetaiq’s legal footer identifies Global Data Intelligence Limited, the same company behind Global Database. These are affiliated offerings, not three independent endorsements. The order follows this series’ editorial format and is not an objective ranking or the result of comparative product testing.

Start by separating five different data jobs

Public-market workstations combine traded-security data, company fundamentals, estimates, research, news, portfolio tools and productivity features. FactSet, Bloomberg Terminal, LSEG Workspace and Capital IQ Pro overlap here, but the purchased data, role configuration and ecosystem can matter more than the headline platform name. Exchange entitlements, broker research and third-party datasets may have separate charges and usage restrictions.

Private-company financials begin with a legal entity and the accounts it is required or willing to disclose. The output may include revenue, earnings, assets, liabilities and cash flow, but availability varies sharply by jurisdiction, company size and reporting regime. A provider profile is not proof that full statements exist. Preserve the period, filing date, currency, units, consolidation basis, source and whether each figure is reported, calculated, estimated or unavailable.

Registry data establishes the company’s formal identity, status, officers, shareholders and filings. It can resolve whether the analyst is looking at a parent, subsidiary or similarly named entity. Registry evidence does not supply live market prices, consensus estimates or a recommended credit limit. Global Database sits closest to this identity-and-evidence layer in the shortlist.

Credit intelligence supports lending or trade-credit decisions with provider-specific scores, limits, payment behaviour, adverse events and monitoring. None of the featured institutional market platforms should automatically be treated as a credit bureau. A financial statement, security rating and commercial credit opinion answer different questions and can have different eligible populations and legal meanings.

Private-capital and emerging-market intelligence add context around investors, deals, ownership, local industries and countries. FactSet and Capital IQ Pro have expanded their private-market propositions, while EMIS specializes in emerging-market company and sector research. That context may be decisive for sourcing or diligence, but it should not be confused with a statutory filing or a live exchange feed.

Define which layer is missing before scheduling demonstrations. If the problem is an unverified private-company figure, begin with private-company financial evidence. If the problem is broad terminal procurement, use the financial research platform guide. A bigger data catalogue is not automatically the right answer to a narrower evidence gap.

Nine providers, reviewed by documented capability and limitation

Official product and pricing pages were checked independently on 21 October 2026. The comparison table and reviews use the same nine-provider collection. Quote-only products remain quote-only, and public prices apply only to the stated unit and billing basis. A public consumer subscription, a research allowance, an API report and an institutional seat are not converted into a false like-for-like price.

01

Institutional financial data, analytics, models and investment workflows

FactSet

FactSet is the featured institutional platform. Its Workstation joins public- and private-company data, securities, estimates, ownership, transactions, news, portfolio analytics and productivity tools. Data feeds, APIs and newer MCP-based delivery extend the platform into internal models and governed AI workflows. The practical buying question is not whether FactSet has a capability, but which data, applications and rights are included in the proposed configuration.

Strengths

  • The official Workstation catalogue describes more than 800 data sources spanning public and private companies, securities, real-time markets, alternatives and events.
  • FactSet connects research, screening, Excel modelling, portfolio analytics and enterprise delivery rather than offering only a company lookup.
  • Current private-market development includes private-company financials and an announced 20 October 2026 partnership to integrate Nasdaq Private Market capitalization-table data.

Limitations

  • The catalogue contains many datasets and workflow modules, so buyers must map entitlements and avoid assuming every described capability is included in one licence.
  • FactSet is not primarily an official company registry or commercial credit bureau; legal-entity provenance, statutory filings and trade-payment decisions require separate validation.
  • FactSet does not publish a standard Workstation amount, currency, user unit or contract term on the official pages reviewed.
Pricing
Annual subscription, quote-based; no public standard amount FactSet states that data is typically sold through annual subscriptions and directs buyers to sales for detail. Require currency, named users, term, Workstation applications, market-data charges, feeds, APIs, MCP access, implementation, support, export and derived-data rights, renewal and termination terms in writing.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Institutional investment, banking, wealth and corporate teams that need connected market data, company research, modelling, analytics and governed delivery.
02

Evidence-aware company-financial research and analysis

Veripoint

Veripoint is a focused research workspace for investigating available private- and public-company records, comparing financial performance and producing a reviewable analysis. It is relevant when the requirement behind a broad workstation is company-level financial investigation rather than live trading data, consensus workflows or portfolio construction. Analysts can begin with published self-serve plans before considering larger data arrangements.

Strengths

  • Guided analysis connects returned financial figures to reporting context, ratios, comparisons and stated evidence gaps.
  • Published monthly and annual plans make the entry workflow budgetable without an enterprise sales cycle.
  • Workspace API and MCP access are included within the shared research allowance, supporting analyst and agent workflows around saved reports.

Limitations

  • It does not claim to replace real-time exchange data, broker research, consensus estimates, portfolio risk systems or execution-connected terminal workflows.
  • Available history and fields depend on the legal entity, jurisdiction, reporting regime and returned sources.
  • Provider feeds, bulk data, redistribution and specialist enterprise integrations can require separate credentials or commercial terms.
Pricing
Free; US$99, US$199 or US$499 per month USD before tax, billed monthly: Pro includes 100 completed searches, Business 300 and Enterprise 1,000. Annual charges are US$1,009.80, US$2,029.80 and US$5,089.80. Free registered workspaces include three completed searches per day. A follow-up can use another search; this is not a unique-company allowance.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Finance, investment, lending and procurement analysts who need focused company-financial investigation with transparent entry pricing.
03

Registry-led company identity, ownership, filed financials and licensed delivery

Global Database

Global Database provides company identity, registry evidence, officers, shareholders, group structures and filed financials through Regis, platform access, APIs and bulk delivery. It fits a different layer from a market workstation: establishing the correct legal entity and making company records available for research or enterprise systems. Corporate licensing can cover API, download, bulk and commercial-use requirements.

Strengths

  • Regis attributes returned company facts to official registry sources and includes ownership, directors and filed financials where available.
  • A self-serve tier allows an analyst to test entity and evidence workflows before an enterprise data discussion.
  • Corporate delivery supports API, bulk data, licensed downloads and scoped commercial rights rather than screen access alone.

Limitations

  • Registry-led records do not reproduce real-time prices, exchange entitlements, broker research, consensus estimates or portfolio analytics.
  • Filed-financial depth and refresh depend on each jurisdiction, entity and source publication cycle.
  • The public Regis amount is not a quote for bulk delivery, redistribution, unlimited seats or a full enterprise market-data deployment.
Pricing
Regis Free or $99/month; Corporate custom The official page displays $99 per month billed monthly for Pro with 200 credits and five credits monthly for Free. It does not label the dollar currency code, so confirm settlement currency at checkout. Free and Pro are view-only for CSV/PDF and exclude API access; Corporate adds scoped API, download, bulk and licensing terms.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Teams that prioritize legal-entity certainty, source-attributed company evidence, ownership and licensed company-data delivery.
04

Normalized company financial statements and repeatable API retrieval

Monetaiq

Monetaiq concentrates on structured company accounts: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, ratios and filing history. It is useful when the real need is repeatable retrieval of available company financials for an internal model or research process. Its report allowance should not be treated as equivalent to a FactSet seat, real-time market licence or complete institutional workstation.

Strengths

  • Public monthly report allowances make the initial capacity and billing unit visible.
  • Financial endpoints return normalized fields and available history for modelling and comparison.
  • Higher plans add monitoring, while bulk financial statements, original filings and higher throughput can be scoped separately.

Limitations

  • Financial statements alone do not provide real-time markets, consensus estimates, broker research, portfolio analytics or execution tools.
  • Coverage depth varies by company and filing regime; one retrieved company does not guarantee every required statement field or year.
  • The pricing page shows conflicting daily API limits between plan cards and its detailed table, so throughput must be confirmed in writing.
Pricing
$99, $199, $499 or $999 per month The page displays dollar amounts without an explicit currency code; confirm settlement currency. Monthly Starter, Growth, Business and Scale allowances are 200, 600, 3,000 and 10,000 financial reports, with 15% off advertised for annual billing. Original filings, bulk feeds, redistribution and higher limits are separately scoped.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Research and data teams that mainly need normalized company accounts with visible report-volume economics and API access.
05

Real-time multi-asset markets, news, research, communications and execution workflows

Bloomberg Terminal

Bloomberg Terminal is a professional markets environment built around live data, news, analytics, company and security research, messaging and connected trading workflows. It is a close FactSet competitor for many public-market teams, but the two products should be compared through the exact role and datasets purchased. Bloomberg’s professional network and communication tools are part of the workflow, not a decorative add-on.

Strengths

  • Market data, Bloomberg News, research, analytics, portfolio tools and professional communications operate in one established interface.
  • Multi-asset coverage and execution-connected workflows suit roles that act on real-time market information.
  • Bloomberg Professional mobile and remote-access options extend the Terminal workflow beyond a single desk.

Limitations

  • It is not a registry-led private-company database or a commercial credit-report service, and it should not be evaluated as though those categories were interchangeable.
  • A broad terminal may be excessive for a team needing only occasional private-company accounts or a narrow data feed.
  • Official pages require a sales conversation and do not publish a standard currency amount, terminal unit or billing term.
Pricing
Subscription required; quote-based and not publicly standardized Bloomberg’s official Terminal and contact pages direct prospective customers to request a demo or contact sales. Require currency, terminal or enterprise unit, users, term, exchange and data charges, add-ons, implementation, remote access, renewal and cancellation terms in the proposal.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Trading, investment and markets professionals who depend on real-time data, news, cross-asset analytics, communications and execution-adjacent tools.
06

Cross-asset market data, Reuters news, research, analytics and Microsoft-connected workflows

LSEG Workspace

LSEG Workspace brings together cross-asset data, Reuters news, analytics, research and role-specific tools for investment banking, asset management, trading, wealth and related users. Its Microsoft interoperability and expanding AI Search capabilities make workflow fit a central part of the comparison. Workspace can overlap strongly with FactSet, but purchased content and use rights still need line-by-line confirmation.

Strengths

  • Workspace combines market data, company fundamentals, research, news and analytics across professional roles.
  • Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 interoperability can reduce switching between research and collaboration workflows.
  • In October 2026 LSEG added Equity Market Analytics to AI Search, including natural-language access to execution benchmarks and market-impact analysis.

Limitations

  • Broad content availability does not mean every dataset, exchange entitlement, private-market module or add-in is included in every Workspace proposal.
  • It is not a substitute for authoritative registry evidence or a scored business-credit workflow.
  • The official product page uses request-details and sales routes rather than publishing a standard currency, user price or contract term.
Pricing
Quote-based; no public standard currency amount LSEG directs buyers to request product details or contact its sales team. Require currency, users, term, Workspace edition, exchange entitlements, Reuters and third-party content, private-market datasets, feeds or APIs, implementation, support, rights and renewal terms.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Institutional teams wanting market data, Reuters news, analytics and research integrated with Microsoft and cross-asset workflows.
07

Company fundamentals, estimates, transactions, screening and Excel modelling

S&P Capital IQ Pro

S&P Capital IQ Pro is a close research-platform alternative for company analysis, investment banking and corporate finance. It connects public- and private-company data, estimates, transactions, documents, screening and Excel-linked workflows. Its expanding private-markets content broadens the comparison, while credit ratings and other S&P products remain separately scoped rather than automatically included.

Strengths

  • Company fundamentals, estimates, transactions, documents and screening support research, valuation and deal workflows.
  • S&P Global describes more than 60 million private companies in its current private-markets proposition, alongside public-market context.
  • Excel modelling and enterprise data-delivery options support work beyond browser research.

Limitations

  • S&P Global’s product family is broad, so Capital IQ Pro access should not be assumed to include ratings, every private-market dataset, feeds or redistribution rights.
  • Headline company coverage does not establish required-year financial depth or original-document availability for the buyer’s exact sample.
  • The official product page offers a personalized demo but no standard public amount, currency or per-user billing basis.
Pricing
Quote-based; no public standard amount S&P Global uses request-demo and follow-up routes for Capital IQ Pro. Ask for currency, named users, term, required modules, private-market content, Excel, feeds, APIs, implementation, export and model rights, support, renewal pricing and termination obligations.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Investment banking, corporate finance and institutional research teams needing company fundamentals, estimates, transactions and modelling in one platform.
08

Accessible public-market quotes, news, charts, portfolios and investor research

Yahoo Finance

Yahoo Finance is an accessible public-market research service rather than an institutional workstation. Its free experience covers quotes, charts, news, company pages and portfolio tracking, while paid tiers add research, analytics and export-oriented features. It is useful as a low-cost reference or individual-investor tool, but enterprise buyers should not infer terminal-grade entitlements, service levels or data rights.

Strengths

  • Free browser and app access lowers the barrier for public-market monitoring and basic company research.
  • Paid plans add premium charts, screeners, research and historical financial data for individual analysis.
  • The official US plan page publishes annual prices and describes the billing cycle rather than requiring a sales quote.

Limitations

  • It does not offer the same institutional data catalogue, real-time exchange entitlements, modelling integration, support or governed enterprise delivery as FactSet.
  • Private-company, registry, ownership and credit intelligence are outside its core public-market proposition.
  • Displayed pricing and features can vary by country, device and promotional route; consumer subscriptions do not establish enterprise reuse or redistribution rights.
Pricing
Free; annual plans display $95.40, $239.40 or $479.40 The official US plan page displayed Bronze at $95.40/year, Silver at $239.40/year and Gold at $479.40/year, with monthly equivalents of $7.95, $19.95 and $39.95 and a seven-day Gold trial. The page uses a dollar sign without a currency code in the captured text; confirm locale, taxes and app-store pricing before purchase.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Individual investors and small teams needing accessible public-market quotes, news, charts, portfolios and research without an institutional workstation.
09

Emerging-market company, industry, country and transaction intelligence

EMIS

EMIS specializes in company and industry intelligence across emerging markets. Its platform combines company profiles and financial performance with sector, country and transaction research, while its store offers selected reports individually. EMIS is included because geography can be more important than a broad global workstation when local company and industry context is the difficult part of the assignment.

Strengths

  • The official store describes company, industry and country coverage across more than 197 emerging markets.
  • Company profiles sit beside sector, macroeconomic and transaction context, supporting research where local information is fragmented.
  • Selected reports can be purchased through the store, while ongoing access is available through an enterprise subscription.

Limitations

  • Its emerging-market focus does not replace FactSet’s full public-market workstation, portfolio analytics or global real-time data for every role.
  • Company-profile depth, source availability and report price vary by country and entity.
  • The full EMIS subscription has no standard public currency amount, user unit or term on the official pages reviewed.
Pricing
Selected reports priced individually; full subscription quote-based The official EMIS store displays a price and currency for each selected report, but those values vary and are not a universal tariff. Regular platform access uses a request-demo route. Require currency, named users, markets, modules, downloads, feeds, support, permitted uses, term and renewal in the proposal.Pricing checked 2026-10-21.
Best for
Research, strategy and transaction teams that need company and sector intelligence with strong emerging-market context.

A feature matrix should describe fit, not award invented scores

The matrix below maps documented product emphasis. “Core” means central to the reviewed proposition; “available” means the provider describes the capability but depth or entitlement must be confirmed; “adjacent” means the category is not the product’s primary job. It is not a score, test result or promise of equivalent coverage.

Interpretation: a buyer can legitimately use more than one layer. A markets team might retain a workstation for listed securities while using a registry-led source to resolve private legal entities and a focused analysis tool to document financial conclusions. The architecture is defensible only if duplicated costs, data lineage and decision ownership are explicit.

Weight the decision before the demonstrations begin

Teams often let the most polished demonstration redefine the problem. A buyer-owned evaluation prevents that. The fictional example below assigns 30% to public-market data, 20% to private-company evidence, 20% to analyst workflow, 15% to delivery and rights, and 15% to governance and support. The weights sum to 100%; no vendor is scored.

ILLUSTRATIVE EVALUATION WEIGHTS

Priorities should reflect the operating mandate

PERCENT · FICTIONAL BUYER

20%

15%
Text equivalent: the fictional buyer weights public-market data 30%, private-company evidence 20%, analyst workflow 20%, delivery and rights 15%, and governance and support 15%. The chart contains no vendor results. A credit team, corporate-development team or individual investor would use different weights and mandatory gates.

Interpretation: weighting is useful only after rejection gates are set. If a provider fails the required exchange, entity-match, source-date, security or permitted-use condition, a strong score elsewhere should not compensate. Conversely, a capability that is genuinely optional should not be presented as mandatory merely because one platform demonstrates it well.

Use real work. Include liquid and thinly traded securities, renamed issuers, dual listings, corporate actions, private subsidiaries, companies with limited disclosure and entities from difficult jurisdictions. Keep the sample fixed across providers. Record both the correct result and the analyst time required to reach it.

Compare annual operating cost, not the visible subscription alone

A quote can combine users, applications, exchange fees, datasets, feeds, APIs, implementation and support. Consumer products may publish simple annual amounts, while enterprise services price a tailored scope. These are valid commercial models, but they cannot be plotted on one honest list-price chart when the units differ or the amounts are not public.

Use a buyer-owned total-cost model. The fictional scenarios below both process 2,000 research cases per year. Scenario A has a £24,000 platform and data cost, £8,000 implementation amortization and 350 review hours at £60, producing 1,450 accepted cases. Scenario B costs £42,000 for platform and data, £4,000 implementation amortization and 160 review hours, producing 1,760 accepted cases. No named provider is assigned either scenario.

Implementation amortization: £4,000
Review labour: £9,600
Total: £55,600

£31.59 per accepted case

1,760 accepted cases from 2,000 attempts

Text equivalent: Scenario A costs £53,000 and yields 1,450 accepted cases, or £36.55 each. Scenario B costs £55,600 and yields 1,760 accepted cases, or £31.59 each. Blue is platform/data, yellow implementation amortization and grey review labour. All prices, hours and acceptance counts are fictional; 350 and 160 review hours use £60 per hour. No provider is assigned a scenario, and avoided losses or investment returns are excluded.

Interpretation: a higher subscription can still produce a lower cost per accepted case if it reduces exception work without weakening the evidence standard. That is a hypothesis to test, not a promised saving. Lock the acceptance definition before reviewing results, count failed entity matches and missing fields, and do not remove difficult cases to improve the denominator.

For a three-year comparison, request fees in the contract currency for every mandatory component. State annual indexation, exchange and third-party pass-throughs, implementation, training, support, storage, API overages, additional environments, renewal notice and exit assistance. Model cash payment dates separately from accounting amortization. A discounted first year can conceal a more expensive steady state.

A sceptical enterprise procurement test

Map entitlements to tasks. Ask each provider to identify the application, dataset and right behind every mandatory workflow. “Available on the platform” is not the same as included. Require a sample order form or entitlement schedule and reconcile it with the demonstration. Note which functions depend on third-party exchange or research agreements.

Test source and time semantics. A price needs market, currency, timestamp and adjustment method. A financial statement needs entity, period, currency, units, consolidation basis and filing date. An estimate needs contributor population and update logic. A private-company value needs a clear label distinguishing reported facts from calculated or estimated outputs. Reject silent substitution across these categories.

Test Excel and models under failure. Refresh a representative workbook, change identifiers, simulate unavailable fields and check whether stale values remain visible. Measure formula portability, audit trail, link repair and the work required to leave the platform. A model that updates smoothly in a demonstration can still create serious operational risk if entitlements change or identifiers are proprietary.

Test delivery rights separately. Screen access, spreadsheet export, API retrieval, internal model use, storage, use with language models, customer display and redistribution are distinct permissions. Ask who owns derived outputs, what must be deleted at termination and whether historical reports may be retained for audit. Technical access never proves contractual permission.

Test resilience and support. Define severity levels, response targets, planned maintenance, incident communication, recovery objectives and named escalation routes. Ask how a feed correction reaches downstream models and whether prior values can be reconstructed. For a critical workflow, document the manual fallback before signing.

Run a parallel pilot. Keep the incumbent while finalists process the same real cases. Record disagreements, source dates, missing values, analyst interventions and downstream failures. An attractive interface is not evidence that portfolio coverage or data rights fit. Preserve the existing workflow until acceptance, training, rollback and record-retention controls have passed.

The latest industry developments reinforce this direction. On 20 October 2026 FactSet announced a partnership with Nasdaq Private Market to integrate capitalization-table data. LSEG’s October 2026 Workspace updates added natural-language equity market analytics, and both firms continue expanding governed AI delivery. These developments can be useful, but they make entitlement, source traceability and permitted model use more important—not less.

For focused company analysis, compare a sample Veripoint report with your current output and verify entity-level coverage. For other institutional platforms, review the Capital IQ alternatives and PitchBook competitors guides without assuming their public-market and private-capital categories are identical.

THE PRACTICAL CHOICE

Buy the smallest evidence stack that supports the decision

Keep FactSet when its connected institutional workflows, data and delivery rights justify the full contract. Replace only a defined function when a focused service can meet the evidence, workflow and permission gates. Use more than one layer where necessary, but give each dataset an owner and avoid paying twice for an unexamined overlap.

TEST THE COMPANY-FINANCIAL LAYER

Analyse one real company in Veripoint.

Choose a private or public company your team already reviews. Inspect the available records, reporting context and financial interpretation, then compare the evidence with your existing workflow. Start with the free allowance and move to a paid plan only after the required company and fields are confirmed.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

FactSet competitors FAQs

01What are the best FactSet competitors?

The best FactSet competitor depends on the workflow. Bloomberg Terminal and LSEG Workspace are strong institutional candidates for real-time markets, news and cross-asset research. S&P Capital IQ Pro is relevant for company fundamentals, estimates, transactions and modelling. Veripoint, Global Database and Monetaiq address narrower company-financial or registry-led needs, Yahoo Finance serves accessible public-market research, and EMIS adds emerging-market company and industry context.

02How much does FactSet cost?

FactSet’s official FAQ, checked on 21 October 2026, says data is typically offered through annual subscriptions and directs buyers to sales for detailed pricing. No standard currency amount, per-user rate or Workstation package is published there. Request a written schedule covering users, applications, datasets, exchange fees, feeds, APIs, MCP access, implementation, support, usage rights, renewal pricing and termination obligations.

03Is there a cheaper alternative to FactSet?

A narrower service can have a lower published entry cost, but that does not make it equivalent. Veripoint publishes Free through US$499 monthly research plans; Global Database Regis publishes Free and a displayed $99 monthly Pro plan; Monetaiq displays $99 to $999 monthly financial-report plans; Yahoo Finance publishes free and consumer paid tiers. Compare the required workflow, data rights and manual work before claiming a saving.

04What is the difference between FactSet and Bloomberg Terminal?

Both support institutional market research, but their value is configured differently. Bloomberg emphasizes real-time markets, news, professional communications and execution-connected workflows. FactSet combines a broad data catalogue with research, portfolio analytics, modelling and enterprise delivery. The meaningful comparison is the purchased datasets, exchange entitlements, Excel and portfolio tasks, collaboration needs, service model and complete contract—not a generic feature checklist.

05What is the difference between FactSet and S&P Capital IQ Pro?

FactSet and Capital IQ Pro overlap in company fundamentals, estimates, transactions, screening, private-company data and modelling. Capital IQ Pro is often shortlisted for investment banking and corporate finance, while FactSet also has deep asset-management, portfolio and enterprise-data workflows. Actual differences depend on licensed content and role configuration. Test identical companies, models and exports, then compare evidence quality, workflow time, rights and contracted cost.

06Which FactSet alternative is best for private-company financials?

Veripoint, Global Database and Monetaiq are focused options when the primary job is finding, retrieving or analysing available company accounts. Capital IQ Pro, FactSet and EMIS can add broader institutional or market context. Test the same legal entities and require reporting period, currency, units, consolidation scope, source, filing date, available history and a visible distinction between reported, calculated, estimated and unavailable values.

07Can Veripoint replace FactSet?

Veripoint can replace or complement a defined company-financial investigation workflow when users need evidence-aware analysis, comparisons and reports with published entry pricing. It is not presented as a replacement for FactSet’s complete market-data catalogue, real-time exchange entitlements, estimates, portfolio analytics or enterprise feeds. A team may retain its institutional market platform while using Veripoint for focused private-company or counterparty analysis.

08Does FactSet offer APIs, data feeds or MCP access?

Yes. FactSet’s official catalogue describes APIs and data feeds, and current product materials describe MCP-based access for governed AI workflows, including private-company screening and portfolio analytics. Availability is product- and contract-specific. Confirm endpoint or dataset scope, rate limits, refresh cadence, storage, derived-data and model rights, customer display, redistribution, security, audit logs and post-termination deletion or retention before implementation.

09Is Yahoo Finance a free alternative to FactSet?

Yahoo Finance can cover basic public-market quotes, charts, news, company pages and portfolio tracking at no charge, with paid consumer tiers adding research and analytical features. It is not a like-for-like institutional replacement for FactSet’s licensed datasets, real-time entitlements, estimates, modelling, portfolio analytics, integrations, enterprise support and data rights. Use it where its accessible investor workflow actually matches the requirement.

10How should enterprise buyers compare FactSet alternatives?

Freeze a representative set of real entities, securities, portfolios and decisions, then run the same tasks in each finalist. Test identity, data completeness, timestamps, estimates, corporate actions, model links, exports, APIs, auditability and support. Separate mandatory rejection gates from convenience, count manual exception time, review every permitted use and price the complete three-year term, including market-data charges, implementation, renewals and exit work.
